Funeral services for Charles R. Judge, Jr. of Haines City, FL, formerly of Pella, were held Monday October 5 at The Salvation Army in Lakeland, FL. Burial was at Florida National Cemetery.

Charles was bom July 13,1933 in Kansas City, MO and spent his childhood there. He joined the Air Force in 1951 and was honorably discharged in 1955.

Chuck, as he was known as an adult, met Marlene Ver Steeg at The Salvation Army Training College in Chicago, IL and they were married October 7, 1956. Chuck and Marlene lived in Kansas City, MO and Dallas, TX before moving to Pella in 1971.

Chuck worked at Pella Corporation for 25 years before retiring in 1997. During retirement he continued to stay active by giving tours at Pella Corp. and serving as the

Coordinator of Volunteers for the Iowa Department of Human Services of Marion County.

Chuck and Marlene moved to Haines City in 2003. Chuck volunteered at Bok Sanctuary and was also a Sunday School and Bible Study teacher. He also worked part-time at Winn-Dixie grocery store.

Chuck passed away Tuesday September 29, 2009. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Marlene and son Russell Judge ofHaines City, FL; daughter Melody and her husband Don Sneller of Lexington, SC; grandson Michael Sneller of Cape Girardeau, MO and granddaughter Trish Sneller of Wilmington, NC. He will also be missed by a sister, Betty Burch of Kansas City, MO; sister-in-law Janice and brother-in law Melvin Petersma of Pella, IA; brother-in-law Aaron and sister-in-law Phylis Ver Steeg of Oskaloosa, IA.
