Death of Mrs. William Yergin
Last Saturday evening the Angel of Death most unexpectedly visited one of Wooster's happy homes and suddenly took the mistress thereof, a most estimable lady, to her last rest. Shortly after dinner Mrs. William Yergin was stricken with an acute pain in her chest, at her home on South Market Street. She was assisted up stairs by her daughter Nettie, and liniment was applied without effect. Dr. Moore was called early and prescribed, saying he would call again in the evening. Nothing serious was apprehended, but two hours later she died, the cause being congestion of the lungs. Deceased was in the 64th year of her age, and had been a resident of Wooster all her life, her maiden name being Margaret J. Barkdull. A husband and six children are left to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and an affectionate mother. She was esteemed and respected by all her friends and acquaintances as a true-hearted, noble Christian woman. The funeral took place from the family residence on South Market Street Monday afternoon, the services being conducted by Rev. W. F. Slocum, of the Bethany Baptist church.
