The daughter of Arthur Kwood and Hazel Irene (Aldridge) Cordle, she was born on November 10, 1943, in rural Downing, MO. She was 58 years old.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Junior Dee Cordle and John Edwin Cordle; and one sister, Betty Louise Garrison.
Marie is survived by one sister, Shirley and husband, Gene Bair of Arbela, MO; nieces and nephews, Betty's children, Lila Talbott, Lena Corrigan, Lynda Nickols, Lisa Davis and Arthur Garrison and families, all out of the state; Jake and wife, Danielle Bair of Memphis, MO, Bobby and wife, Shawna Bair of Arbela, MO, and Kim Bair of Arbela, MO; great-nieces and nephews, Breanna Bair, Tabitha Bair, Marissa Bair, Calesse Bair, Lathe Bair, Kenny Bair and Jaycen Bair and the Ray and Bertha Wheeler family.
Marie was a member of the Arbela United Methodist and the Ladies Aide organization of that church. She also attended school in Granger, MO.
Marie loved her family and touched many with her loving smile. In her spare time, she enjoyed being with family and friends, watching TV, her needlework and drinking her favorite cola.
Funeral services were held on July 20, 2002, at the Norman Funeral Home in Downing, MO with Reverend David Hartsfield, pastor of the Arbela United Methodist Church officiating. Organist Arleta Dye and soloist, Danielle Bair, provided music. Pallbearers were Joe Wheeler, John Wheeler, Alan Davis, Leon Wheeler, Terry Wheeler and Danny Brush. Interment was in the Crowder Cemetery, southwest of Downing, MO. Memorials may be given to the family for a monument for her grave. Norman Funeral Home in Downing, MO was in charge of arrangements.
