Husband of Carrie V. (Richard) Culler.

The Middletown Valley Register informs us that Maurice Culler, a young man 15 years of age, residing in the family of his grandfather, Mr Daniel Derr, about two miles north of Middletown met with a severe accident last Friday morning. He and his uncle, Mr. Charles H. Derr, were on the way to Frederick with the team, hauling 100 bushels of corn, and in dismounting the saddle horse about one mile west of Frederick, his foot caught in the stirrup and he fell, when his left foot was caught under tho front wheel and very badly crushed. He was brought to Messrs. P. L. Hargett & Co´s store, in this city, where Dr. Johnson tended him and dressed the injured limb. He was subsequently taken home and is now under the care of Dr. J. E. Beatty, of Middletown, who reports him to be doing as well as could be expected, considering the mangled condition of his foot.
In the 1900 census, Morris was living in Chicago Ward 33, Cook county, Illinois. He was listed as Maurice Culler, a pipe fitter, age 28, born April 1872 in Maryland, and his first wife, Amanda Culler, age 23, born November 1876 in Illinois, and their children listed were; Walter Culler, age 3, born February 1897, in Illinois, and Dorothy Culler, age 5 months, born December 1899 in Illinois. The census also stated they have been married for 4 years, and that Amanda was a mother of two children, and both living.
In the 1910 census, Morris and his family were living in South Bend Ward 4, Saint Joseph County, Indiana, with his mother-in-law, Louisa Richard, age 48, a widow, born in Virginia. He was listed as, Morris Culler, a steam fitter, age 38, born in Maryland, and his wife, Carrie Culler, age 28 born in Maryland, and their daughter, Viola Culler age 5, born in Indiana. The census also state that Morris was on his 2nd marriage, and that him and Carrie been married for 6 years.

Hagerstown, Maryland, April 15--Morris W. Culler, aged about 42 years, was instantly killed at the Standard Oil plant south of this city, yesterday, when an elevator on which he was working fell from the third story to the ground. Culler's neck was broken and one side of his face shattered. Culler leaves a widow and three children, came to this city from South Bend, Indiana. He had been employed at the oil plant two weeks.

Mrs Carrie V. Culler, of Hagerstown has sued for herself and four infant children, the Standard Oil Co., for damages and losses arising from the death of her husband. Morris W. Culler, formerly of near Middletown, who was killed at the Hagerstown plant. The amount of damages claimed is not set forth.
