Kathryn Peniwell Martin died in the home of her daughter in Memphis, Tenn. at 3:40 o'clock Tuesday morning, according to word received by relatives who have made arrangements for bringing the body to Decatur for funeral services and burial.
She was born in Decatur Nov 2, 1872, the daughter of William H. Peniwell. She leaves one son, Charles W. Martin, Kansas city and one daughter, Mrs.Freda Martin Ferguson, Memphis, also two grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. William M. Martin, Decatur, one half brother, Henry C. Peniwell, Decatur and one half sister, Mrs.Sally Allshouse, Paulding, Ohio.
Mrs.Martin was a member of the Christian science church and spent most of her life in Decatur.
The body will arrive Thursday morning and will be taken to the Dawson & Wikoff funeral home. Funeral services will be held in the Dawson & Wikoff chapel Friday at 11 am with burial in the Greenwood cemetery.
Kathryn Peniwell married Charles E. Martin Oct 3, 1893 in Chicago, Ill.
She divorced Charles 3/22/1911 for desertion. He would just disappear and then return more than once. Not sure where he died.
