EDGAR CLIFTON HARDESTY SR., 90, Bradfordsville, died Aug. 5, 2007, at his daughter's residence. Born Sept. 30,1916, in Marion County, Hardesty was a retired farmer and a member of Bradfordsville Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Minnie Belle Gupton Hardesty; parents, Clarence Walter and Mary Ellen Newcome Hardesty; one brother, Robert Hardesty; three sisters, Bernice Brockman, Nell Rakes and Pauline Veatch; and three sons, Donald, Ronald and Eddie Hardesty. Survivors include: one son, Paul Hardesty of Campbellsville; two daughters, Patricia Kirkland of Bradfordsville and Vicki Courtwright of Calvary; a sister, Lucy Benningfield of Finley; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Aug. 9 at Bradfordsville Baptist Church, with burial in Old Liberty Cemetery, Bradfordsville. Rev. Donovan Burton officiated. Pallbearers were Mark and David Courtwright, Susan Courtwright Rodriguez, Jimmy and Joe Pat Kirkland, Charlotte Kirkland Purdom and Cory and Amber Clan. Bosley Funeral Home, Lebanon, was in charge of arrangements.
