Mrs. Ward was a self-employed antique dealer and an avid antique collector.
A past president of the Lancaster County Association for the deaf, she was also a volunteer for the Toys for Tots program.
She enjoyed the Philadelphia Phillies.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Edgar L and Charlotte Good Piersol.
Her husband Leeman R. Ward died in 1971.
Surviving are a son, Michael L., husband of Cindy Ward of Lititz, a daughter, Lisa A, wife of Francis J Haefner Jr. of Lancaster; five grandchildren; two brothers, Jay and John Piersol both of Lancaster; and a sister, Jean L Harnish of Bethesda, MD Entered into rest on Oct. 18, 1998, Janet L Piersol Ward.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Chapel of the Andrew Scheid Funeral Home, Millersville, PA on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Lance Mills officiating.
Interment will be in Riverview Burial Park.
