Anne Cotter Coles, age 60, of Fairfield, CT and formerly of Trumbull, CT, was born in Bridgeport, CT. She was the beloved wife of Kevin Coles, passed away peacefully in St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport, CT. In addition to her devoted husband of 40 years, Kevin, her memory will be cherished by her children, Steven Coles and his wife, Amy, of McLean, VA, and Leland G. Coles, of Stratford, CT; two grandchildren, Connor and Colton Coles; her mother, Mary Leland Galvin Cotter, of Fairfield, CT; her brothers, sisters, and their spouses including, Daniel Cotter, and wife Pamela, of Trumbull, Sara Cotter, of Monroe, CT, John Cotter, and wife Amy, of Milford, CT, Thomas Cotter, and wife Megan, of Lordship, William Cotter, and wife Laura, of Mooresville, NC, Rosemary Dulaff, of Fairfield, Gerald Cotter, of Bridgeport, Noreen von Brauchitsch, and husband Eric, of Fairfield, Jacqueline Sheehan, and husband Thomas, of Easton, CT; her brothers and sisters-in law, Matthew Coles, and husband, David Ma, of San Francisco, CA, Brigid Guttmacher, and husband, Alan, of Washington, DC, Albert Coles, of Stinson, CA, Mary Norah Clark, and husband, Stephen, of Manchester, NH; 33 nieces and nephews; several aunts, uncles, cousins, grandnieces, and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her father, John (Jack) Cotter. Anne was a past Program Coordinator for challenged persons at STAR, Inc., and The Kennedy Center. An accomplished writer, she wrote "Roasts & Toasts", creating personal touch poems based on clients' family and life experiences She also wrote a column named "Angels Among Us" featuring in depth stories of courageous people who were helping others in quiet ways. Anne was an active volunteer for many organizations over the years including various positions for St Vincent's Medical Center Auxiliary, and President of the Home School Association St Catherine of Siena, in Trumbull. She was a member of the Gaelic American Club, and Fayerweather Yacht Club Auxiliary. Anne had an uncanny and natural ability to help people whether long term friends or new friends. People always opened their hearts to her and she responded in kind with compassion and calm. She was an unrivaled mother and wife, sister and daughter to the Coles and Cotter clans. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Anthony's Church, 197 South Pine Creek Road, Fairfield. Father John Baran officiated. Her interment was private.
