Golden, MS~~Bonnie Sarah Ann Reeves Mattox Townsend,89,
life expired on February 06, 2010 at the home of her daughter in Batesville, MS. She was born Oct. 14, 1920 in Itawamba Co., to Noah S. and Minnie Mae Montgomery Reeves.
She was a kindergarten and elementary school teacher. She was the oldest member of the Old Bethel United Methodist Church. She was active in the UMW, a Sunday School teacher, served on various church commitees, and a Girl Scout Leader.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. James Townsend of Golden, two daughters, LaFonda Mattox Poland (Brooks) of Batesville and Mary Grace Chambers (Eric) of Ackerman.
Four grandchildren, one great grandchild, and one sister Ollie Mae Reeves Johnson (J. B.) of Golden.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, her 1st. husband Luna Escar Mattox, by her brothers; Morris, Ruble, Bulus, Dillard, Boyce, Cleburn, and 2 infant brothers.
Eunice Reeves Williams, Sallie, Ida Elizabeth, and Nancy Jane Reeves. Services were held on Monday Dec. 08, 2010 at the Old Bethel Methodist Church, with Donnie Riley officiating. Burial in Church Cemetery. Senter Funeral Home of Fulton, in charge.
