Neil Ward
Neil Ward, 77, of Mount Blanchard, died Friday, February 5, 2010, at the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky. He was born on January 18, 1933, in Hancock County to the late Vinton and Dorothy (Sockrider) Ward. He married Joan Crawford on June 17, 1952, and she survives.
Also surviving are sons: Larry E. (Donna) Ward of Uniontown, Ohio and Lane A. (Denise) Ward of Arlington; grandchildren: Adam (Christina) Ward, Sarah (Chris) Yeaglin, Naomi (Eric) Kell and Rachel Ward; great-grandchildren: Cooper Yeaglin and Abraham Kell.
Neil was a U.S. Army Veteran having served our country from 1953-1954 during the Korean Conflict, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He spent his lifetime and retired as a farmer. He was a former member of the Bible Fellowship Church and Grace Bible Church, and he had been involved in the Child Evangelism Fellowship program. Neil enjoyed hunting and being outdoors, but most of all he loved his family.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, with Reverend Robert Woods officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Jackson Township, where full military rites will be conducted by the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad.
Visitation will be held from 3-8:00 p.m., Tuesday at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Child Evangelism Fellowship of Greater Findlay and/or Mission Possible and/or Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky, Ohio, in his memory.
