LANG, WILLIAM ANTON 'BILL', 88, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 19, 2002; he was born in New York City; he graduated from the Parsons School of Design in 1934 with a scholarship to Paris, France; the Langs have lived in St. Louis since 1948; he was the beloved husband of 53 years to the late Dorothy Norton Lang of Pittsfield, MA; he was loved by five children and thirteen grandchildren, Jeffrey and Gretchen Chesley Lang, Cornelia and Ursula of Grand Forks, ND; Richard and Judith Lang Main, Nora, Paul and Martha of Milwaukee, WI; John and Bonita Saunders Lang, Emma and Dori of St. Louis , MO; Roger and Jennifer Lang Dickhans, William, Christine, James and Julie of Pittsburgh, PA; Jonas and Joellen Lang Aviza, Andrew and Kate of Concord, NH. He worked for Monsanto for 38 years retiring in 1978 as Director of Design. He was an active volunteer in many St. Louis organizations, parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes, University City, watercolor artist and creative thinker. He survived the polio epidemic of 1932 and was active with the St. Louis Post-polio Support Group. He has donated his body to the St. Louis University Medical School.
