Husband of S.T. Beerstecher.

Attorney Charles J. Beerstecher.

In the early '70s Mr. Beerstecher served as United States Commissioner for the Western District of Michigan.

Later he came to California and in 1878 he was elected a delegate of the Constitutional Convention from San Francisco. He had an absolute majority of all votes polled, although there were five tickets in a field. A few years later he was elected Railroad Commissioner.

Fifteen years ago Mr. Beerstecher settled in this valley. The Superior Court today adjourned out of respect to his memory and a committee was appointed to draft a set of resolutions.
