Doris Louise Nettleton was born near International Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Ora and Meta (Zoller) Nettleton. She spent her youth in Waterloo, and graduated from East High School. On 5 October 1940, she was united in marriage to Charles L. (Leroy) Baker in Waterloo. The couple adopted 2 children during the marriage, Kathe and Mark. Mr. Baker passed away in Waterloo on 30 August 1976. In 1979, she married Elmer (Tom) Jordan. Mr. Jordan died in 1982.
Dorie worked her entire life in Waterloo. She was employed at Rath Packing Company, and was a representative for Stanley Home Products. She was a Unit Secretary for Schoitz Hospital until her retirement. Mrs. Jordan was active in the First Methodist Church in Waterloo, and she loved to travel. She enjoyed visiting area casinos, and playing BINGO.
Dorie was always vibrant, happy, and friendly. Many friends and relatives will mourn her loss.
Surviving is her daughter, Kathe (Mike) Nordstrom of Evansdale, and a son, Mark (Connie) Baker of Missouri. She, also, leaves her very special friend, Ron Ewoldsen of Evandale, to mourn. Two grandchildren, Shellie (Mike) Mott, and Jessica (Jeremy) Bries, and a very special grand daughter, Daphne Bruns. Also surviving are five step grandchildren, Tammy Reno, Jeffery (Brenda) Nordstrom, Deanna Nordstrom, all in Florida, and Frances and Jennifer Walden. She leaves fourteen great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren, and her loving little dachshund dog, Katerina.
Preceding Dorie in death is her twin grand daughter, Sherrie Bruns, husbands Charles Baker and Tom Jordan, and 1 brother, John (Irene) Nettleton. Also, 3 sisters, Lela (Harley) Urch, Lucille (Leo) Hennessey, and Gladys (Carl) DeBorg.
Visitation will be at the Funeral home on Tuesday, 21 December 2010, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the family present. Services are set for Wednesday, 22 December 2010, at 10:30 AM, with interment at the Oakland Cemetery in Janesville.
