Death ended the 50-year career of Carroll County's oldest practioner when Dr. J. H. Bohannan died at his home here last Friday. He was 82 years, 5 months and 28 days of age and had practiced medicine, first at Huntsville, at Berryville, Springdale, and again at Berryville for over fifty years.
Dr. Bohannan was born near Huntsville in the Bohannan Mountain community, which was named for his grandfather, Harrison Bohannan.
He graduated from Physians & Surgeons College at Little Rock in 1910 nd began his practice in Huntsville that year. He moved to Berryville in 1915, later moving to Springdale for a short time. He returned to Berryville in 1924 and continued active in the medical profession until ill health forced his retirement in 1961.
Dr. Bohannan was a son of Thomas and Margaret-Harper Bohannan and was born Jan 20,1880.
