This Indenture made and entered into this 24 of November 1834 between Eli Stark and Mary his wife, Mahlon Stark and Sarah his wife, Jacob Stark and Rebecca his wife, Elizabeth Bennet, Barney Chastain and Synthia his wife, David Stark of the County of Washington and State of Indiana of the one part and Levi Peter Lockhardt of the County of Washington and state aforesaid of the other part witneseth that the said Eli Stark and Mary his wife, Mahlon Stark and Sarah his wife,Jacob Stark and Rebecca his wife, Barnet Chastaine and Synthia his wife and David Stark heirs and legatees of Jacob Stark deceased have for and in consideration of one hundred and fifty dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof tha doe hereby acknowledge have granted and barganed and sold and by these presence doth grant bargan and sel unto the said Levi Peter Lockhart his heirs and assigns our undivided part a certain tract or parsel of land situate lying and being in the county and state aforsd and contained in the south East ------ section twenty three in township two North of two East in the district of lands sold at Jeffersonville of one hundred acres of which the said Jacob Stark deceased was seized in his life time to have and to hold the above described tract or parsel of land with the frimces and appurtenancys unto him the sd Lockhart his heirs and assigns forever and Eli Stark and Mary his wife, Mahlon Stark and Sarah, Jacob Stark and Rebecca his wife, Barny Chastane and Synthia his wife, David Stark, Elizabeth Bennet, for themselves their heirs etc. doth hereby warrant and forever defende the title of the premises to the said Lockhart against the claim or claims of all of every person or persons whatever in testimony where of we have hereunto set our hands and seals this day and year above written.
