Ralph served as a Private First Class, 359th Infantry, 90th Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided at 95 South Chapel Street, Newark, Delaware prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on August 19, 1943 in Camden, New Jersey. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in the manufacture of miscellaneous products and as Single, without dependents.

He was "Killed In Action" during an anti-tank assault in Normandy, France during World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart. He served for nine months.
