Mrs. Mary Ellen Hines, who was called from this life last Sunday morning at seven o'clock, was born in Marion County, Ohio, February 15, 1840. She was seventy-four years, five months and twenty-two days old.
With her husband and family she came to Oregon in the year 1889 and has continued her residence in this state until her death. She was the mother of nine children seven of whom survive her while two have passed on before. September 12, 1910 she suffered the loss of her husband.
The funeral services were held at the home of her son, Elmer Hines, of this place, Monday noon, Rev. J. Cowman officiating. Interment was made in the Pleasant Hill cemetery, M. E. Buck, undertaker in charge.
