G. W. DANT, DISTILLER, BANKER, DIES - HEART ATTACK IS BLAMED FOR DEATH - Lebanon, Ky., April 25. George W. Dant, 72, prominent distiller and banker, and reputedly wealthiest citizen of Marion County, died at 4 a.m. today in J. A. Baute Memorial Hospital here. Stricken yesterday at his home at Dant, he was brought to the hospital last night. Death was attributed to heart attack. A majority stockholder of the Dant Distillery Company at Dant, organized by his father, J. W. Dant, in 1836, he was president of that company and was president of the Farmers National Bank of Lebanon, a post he had held since 1933. He had been a director of the bank since 1910. He was former chairman of the board of the Cummins Distilleries Corporation, recently sold, and one of its principal stockholders. He was a native of Marion County. surviving are his wife, Mrs. Georgia Ferriell Dant; three brothers, Frank L. Dant, Lebanon, circuit clerk of Marion County; James Dant, Loretto, and John P. Dant, Louisville, and three sisters, Miss Ella Dant and Mrs. Kate Beaven, Loretto, and Mrs. Jane Kearns, St. Petersburg, Fla. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, St. Francis.
