She was born Dec. 16, 1902, in Houston, Mo., to Robert and Sara Smith Beaty. She was an operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone from 1918 to 1921. She lived in Emporia for many years.
She was a member of First Christian Church in Emporia and Telephone Pioneers and a 50-year member of Emporia Assembly No. 31 of Social Order of Beauceant. She was a "pink lady" volunteer at Newman Memorial Hospital in Emporia.
She married Nathan Stanley on March 24, 1921, in Kansas City, Kan. He died Dec. 23, 1963. A son, Keith Stanley, and a grandson also died.
Survivors include daughters, Bonnie Irby, Fort Scott, Norma Ewing, Topeka, and Rosalie Stanley, Emporia; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church in Emporia. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Emporia. Relatives and friends will meet after 10 a.m. Tuesday in the church parlor.
