(stone says 1908-1961) L. Blankenship of Hawthorne Dies in Reno. Laurence Blankenship, 60 year old resident of this community succumbed December 23 at the Veteran's Hospital in Reno after a lengthy illness.

Blankenship, born August 20, 1908, was employed at NAD. He was a veteran of World War II. Surviving Mr. Blankenship are a sister, Mrs. Mildred Johnston, of Santa Monica, CA and a brother, Jack Blankenship of El Cajon, CA.

Funeral Services will be conducted at the Hawthorne Funeral Home Thursday at 1:00 p.m. under direction of the Hawthorne Veterans. Burial will be at the Hawthorne Cemetery. MCIN: 27 Dec 1961"

The headstone was to be transported by James W. McCoy, 110 12th Street, Babbitt, Mineral, NV

The headstone was ordered on 13 Apr 1962
