Richard Gulick, 88, of Falmouth, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2003 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood.
He was born on July 4, 1914 in Pendleton County, son of the late W. T. and Nancy Fletcher Gulick. Mr. Gulick has lived in Pendleton County all of his life, and he has dedicated 42 years of his life to serving the county. He married Ava Lou Mains Gulick on June 12, 1936 and his dear wife preceded him in death on March 6, 1999.Mr. Gulick was an elder and a member of the Morgan Christian Church, Pendleton County, for over 60 years.
Mr. Gulick graduated from Falmouth High School in 1932. During those years, he played football, baseball and basketball. He received football and basketball scholarships to the University of Cincinnati where he completed his undergraduate studies in education. In 1941 he received his Masters Degree from the University of Kentucky.He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Gulick Harville and Hiram Harville of Falmouth; two grandchildren, Richard Allen Wood and his wife, Donna and Stephen Phillip Wood and wife, Dawn, both of Falmouth; five great-grandchildren, Tom Wood, Brett Wood, Casey Wood, Megan Wood and Mason Wood, all of Falmouth; and two great-great-grandchildren, Hunter Wood and McKenzie Brook Wood, both of Falmouth.
Funeral services were Monday, March 3 at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, with Rev. Katherine Roark officiating. The music was shared by Michelle Faulkner. Pallbearers were Rick Wood, Steve Wood, Brett Wood, Tom Wood, Casey Wood, Megan Wood and Mason Wood. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Gulick, Dicky Wyatt and the deacons and elders of the Morgan Christian Church.
Interment was in the Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth.
