Chauncie was the daughter of John Valentine Atteberry and Emma Dorinda Rea-Atteberry. She was born in Elkland, MO. She was the sister of John Violet Atteberry who died in infancy, Onie Blanche Atteberry-Day, Fern Atteberry Sr., and Rea Atteberry. She married John Elmer Gray on April 10, 1912 and was the mother of Violet E. Gray-Wood, and Lewis Valentine Gray. She had five grandchildren. She passed away in Southgate, Ca. in 1983, she is buried beside John in Charity Christian Church Cemetery near most of her Atteberry family. May she rest in peace.
