Born in Easley, he was the husband of Beulah Lesley Johnson and son of the late Furman and Janie Welborn Johnson.
Mr. Johnson retired from Abney Mills and was a member of Brandon United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Virginia J. Padgett of Aiken; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Other survivors include Mike McCarthy, Allison McCarthy, Susan Dunbar and Cindy Baxter.
Services: 2:30 p.m. today at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Burial will be held at Graceland Cemetery.
Visitation: 1 to 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.
