Ralph Bennett, 73, 366 Home St., Sycamore, a former Marengo resident, died Sunday morning, Feb. 21, in the Sycamore Hospital. He was born in Westfield, April 29, 1897, the son of Riley and Minnie Hatley Bennett. He married Anna Perkinson who died in 1947. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the American Legion, and the Independence Insurance Underwriters. On Nov. 17, 1962, he married Jeanette Wilder, who survives, as well as two daughters, Mrs. Roger (Juanita) Colver of Toulon and Mrs. Wesley (Georgina) Yeager of Sycamore; one son, William of Silverton, Ore.; two step-sons, Frank and Elmo Higgins, both of Sycamore; two step-daughters, Mrs. Nettie Lindstrom of Sycamore and Mrs. Louisa Silver of Cypress, Calif.; and 16 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Van Natta Funeral Home in Sycamore with the Rev. Howard Crawford officiating. Burial was in Marengo City Cemetery. Friends called at the Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
