Note that this headstone was ordered and placed in the 1990s by Robert Moore (a third great grandson). The exact location of the actual grave being unmarked, the placement of the VA headstone was just a matter of finding available, empty space.

1803 - Son, Jacob Taylor Hillyard/Hilliard, born.

1809 - birth of son, William Hillyard.

1810 - Census - Frederick Co., Va.

Jacob was drafted in Captain McCormick's Company at Winchester during the War of 1812 and served for 3 months. Honorably discharged at Pocohantas. Described as about 5'10", black hair, blue eyes, light complexion.

1815 - birth of son, Grafton Hillyard.

March 1819, birth of son, John T. Hillyard.

1821 - birth of daughter, Nancy Ann Hillyard.

Aug. 24, 1825 - birth of son, Mathias.

1830 - Census - Jacob "Holleard" listed in Western District, Frederick Co., Va.

1835 - death of wife, Elizabeth.

1838 - death of son, Jacob Taylor Hillyard/Hilliard.

1840 - Census - Dayton, Rockingham Co., Va.

5/30/1842 - married to Phoebe Elliott in Frederick Co., Va.

Oct. 3, 1844 - birth of son, Charles Robert Hilliard.

1845 - son, Jacob Theodore Hilliard, born in Frederick County, Virginia.

1850 - Census - Rockingham Co., Va., 56th District #149

1/8/1852 - birth of son, William Christoper/Christian Hilliard.

7/13/1860 - Census listed family residing in Bentonville, Warren County, Va. Jacob (age 79, shoemaker), Phebe (age 47), Jacob (age 15), Charles (age 12), Christopher (age 8)

Moved to Page County sometime after 1860.
