Lawrence Raymond "Buddy" Heathcott, 71, of Friendship, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

He was a self-employed truck driver.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Friendship Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Bellevernon Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Heathcott of Friendship; five daughters, Deborah Heathcott York, Daphne Garrett (Bill), and Mitzi Young (Joe), all of Friendship, Patriece Leath (Larry) and Stephanie Brasfield, both of Alamo; three sisters, Mildred Austin (Vernon) and Patricia Thompson, both of Friendship, and Mary Lea White (Neal) of McEwen; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Joe Garrett, Jeff Strayhorn, Jody Moore, Ronnie Shaw, Andy Hammond, Matt Hooper and Clark Branch.

Honorary pallbearers will be Alton VanDyke, Junior Jones, Junior Akins, Willis Warren, Don Lewis, Ronnie Joe Robertson, Adois Hammond, Jimmy Summerlin and Ricky Wilkerson.

The family requests that any memorials be directed to NOAH of Crockett County.
