She was the daughter of Timothy N. and Nettie Myers Alward. She was married on November 6, 1892 to Charles Hutchinson in Fountain County, Indiana.

"Mrs. Emma M. Hutchinson, a life-long resident of western Indiana, died Monday morning at 10 o'clock at her home two miles northeast of Crawfordsville. She formerly lived near Waynetown.

Mrs. Hutchinson was born in Parke county, Indiana, Oct. 30, 1876, a daughter of Timothy and Nettie Meyers Alward. Besides her husband, Charles Hutchinson, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Wanda Smith, of Crawfordsville, one brother, Otis Alward of Kingman, three half-sisters, Mrs. Charles Davis and Mrs. Robert Neunam, of Kingman, and Mrs. Raymond Lucas, of Marshall, Ind., and her step mother, Mrs. Tbigail Alward, of Kingman.

Funeral services were held in the Elmville Baptist church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in the Waynetown Masonic cemetery."-The Covington Republican, Friday, March 25, 1932
