SWEAT Hance Leroy Sweat, age 65, of Glen St. Mary, Florida, passed away February 3, 2010. Leroy was born in Macclenny, FL to the late Alfred Sweat and Polly Crews Sweat on October 29, 1944.
He was a 1962 graduate of Baker County High School and a life long resident of Baker County. Leroy honorably served in the US Army and retired in 1991 from the Iron Workers Local Union 597 Jacksonville, FL. Leroy loved socializing and visiting with family and friends, fishing, camping and listening to bluegrass music.
He was predeceased by his granddaughter: Maranda Merrett and his brothers: Frank and Henry Sweat.
He is survived by his children: Leroy Sweat Jr. of Glen St. Mary, FL, Sabra Juniper of Lake Butler, FL and Tina (John) Merrett of St. George, GA; his brother: Robert (Konnie) Sweat of Macclenny, FL; his sisters: Elizabeth Lowery of Macclenny, FL, Ruby (Johnnie Wayne) Anderson of Macclenny, FL, Barbara (Dave) Hohmann of Memphis, TN, Ola Mae Sweat of Macclenny, FL, Pencie (Danny) Roberts of Lake City, FL; his 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 11:00 am at V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Home Chapel in Macclenny, FL with Pastor Eddie Griffis officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Creek Cemetery in Sanderson, FL.
The family will accept friends on Friday, February 5, 2010 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
