Elgie Eugene Yarbrough died at his home in Muskogee, Oklahoma, August 14, 1999 at 6:30a.m. at the age of 81 years 9 months and 14 days. He was born October 30, 1917 in Tate, Seminole County, Oklahoma to Eddie Eugene & Dovie Pearl Yarbrough.

He served in World War II and had the rank of Corporal when he was discharged in 1946. He retired from Fluor Construction in 1977, where he worked for several years as a Pipe Superintendent. He was a long time member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Union Local #351 in Muskogee. He loved Fishing, Hunting and raising different kinds of animals. He was a kind and loving person to his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Opal Yarbrough of the home, three sons: Gene Yarbrough & wife Joann, Glenn Yarbrough & wife Margaret, all of Muskogee, Ok. & Jerry Yarbrough & wife Peggy of Wagoner, Ok. Eight grandchildren: Larry Yarbrough of Muskogee, Ok., Linda Yarbrough of Tahlequah, Ok. , & Debbie Rooks Muskogee, Ok, Ginny Bemo of Ft. Gibson, Ok., David Yarbrough of Muskogee, Ok. Susie Standridge of Oktaha, Ok., Gary Yarbrough & Jeff Yarbrough of Wagoner, Ok., and 15 great grandchildren.

He was preceeded in death by his parents Eddie Eugene & Dovie Pearl Yarbrough, 4 brothers, one sister, and a twin sister.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. August 17, 1999 at the Bradley Belltower Chapel at Bradley Funeral Home in Muskogee, Ok. with Pastor Mark Hester officiating. Music will include: "Precious Memories" and "How Great Thou Art" A graveside service will also be held at Tate Mountain Cemetery.

Interment will be in Tate Mountain Cemetery in Wewoka, Oklahoma under the direction of Bradley Funeral Home of Muskogee, Ok.

Pallbearers are: Jack Whitten, Mark Whitten, Robert Felts, Mark Brownell, Elmer Perry & Clifton Walker. Honorary Pallbearers: L.M. Barkhimer, Arthur Tillman, Gene Doughty, Bobby Jenkins.
