Jeremiah Rappleye, son of Joris Rapalje and Marytie Field, was born circa 1742 in Raritan, Somerset County, New Jersey. He was baptized on 22 December 1742 at the First Reformed Church of Raritan in Somerville, Somerset County, New Jersey. He married Sarah Williamson, daughter of William Williamson and Geortye Hegeman, circa 1766 in Somerset County, New Jersey. His wife died in 1813 in Seneca County, New York. He died on 27 October 1827 in Seneca County, New York. He was buried in Interlaken, Seneca County, New York.

DIED--On the 4th October last, in Ovid Seneca county N.York; Mr. Jeremiah Rappleye--At an advanced age--father of Mr. Jeremiah Rappleye, of this county--He was an early settler of the county of Seneca--and one of the Veterans of the Revolution--These Patriots are fast descending to their tombs; but they have bequeathed to posterity, the most invaluable of all legacies--Liberty.
