Francis Yohannan served as a Bomber Pilot for the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. He was a Bombardier.

He was a son of Joshia and Lydia (Zial) Yohannan.

He entered active service with the U.S. Army on May 25, 1942 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

He was stationed at Corsica in 1944.

He received his discharge from World War II service on October 4, 1945.

He later served as a Pilot in the United States Air Force.

He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force.

He was a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal, the Air Medal, and the Distinguished Flying Cross.

He is interred here, along with his wife, Rosemarie.

His younger brother, Frank Yohannan, served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He was killed in action on November 13, 1944.

Frank is also interred here in the same spot in Section 2 of the Gettysburg National Cemetery.
