Obituary of Clara Clark nee White–July 2, 1846-August 8, 1908

Clara White Clark was born at Lawrenceburg, Ind. July 2, 1846. She came to Prescott in 1865 with her mother and resided with the family of Mrs. J.S. White until 1869. In that year she was married to William Clark. Three children blessed this union, the oldest one Harry W. dying in his infancy.

In October 1877, they moved to a farm near Plum City where Mr. Clark died April 1, 1900. In 1903 she moved to Ellsworth where she has resided almost continuously with here daughter Mrs. A. J. Ingli.

The past year she has been making plans to visit her brother J. E. White of Winfleld, Kansas. "Tis sad to note that but a few days before her intended departure she was stricken with paralysis. All attempts to overcome the effects of the malady were fruitless and she quietly passed away Saturday morning, August 8, 1908, at the age of sixty-two.

Funeral services were held at the home of A.J. Ingli Sunday evening conducted by Rev. Ford. Kind friends paid loving tribute to her memory by an abundance of beautiful flowers. On Monday interment was made at the Prescott cemetery where she was laid at rest by the side of her husband. The grave was beautifully lined with flowers.

Short services were conducted here by Rev. Marsy of Prescott. Many friends and relatives of River Falls, Plum City and Prescott were present to share the sorrow of the bereaved family.

She is survived by a sister, Kate Forbes of San Jose Cal and a brother J.E. White of Winfield, Kansas, her son and daughter, Mrs. A. J. Ingli, both of Ellsworth. She belonged to the M.E. church of which she was a faithful member. A loving mother, her ambition centered in the education of her children ???????????? for their life work.

"Do not grieve; she is but sleeping
Loving mother, faithful friend,
Always kept in sacred memory,
"Till our life on earth shall end."
