MRS. KRIDELBAUGH DIES AT HER HOME TUESDAY
Mrs. W. W. Kridelbaugh, 82, well known Chariton lady, died Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 8, 1942, at her home following a heart attack.
Mrs. Kridelbaugh, whose maiden name was Lavina McCartney, was born in Monmouth, Ill. She was married to W. W. Kridelbaugh in Red Oak, Iowa, on March 13, 1878. They came to Chariton in 1881 and for 61 years this place had been her home. The death of Mr. Kridelbaugh occurred on March 25, 1940, a few weeks after they had celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary.
Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Kridelbaugh. A son, Attorney Joe W. Kridelbaugh, passed away two years ago. The children who survive are Mrs. Henry Engebretsen, Mrs. Harold Miller and Jay Kridelbaugh, all of Chariton; Mrs. Edenia Bowman, of San Diego, Calif.; and Mrs. Helen Slaney, of Chicago, Ill.
There are also twelve grandchildren, Hurst Kridelbaugh, of Chicago, Ill.; Joe W. Kridelbaugh, Jr., and Jack Miller, of Chariton; Bill Engebretsen, of the Great Lakes Naval Training Station; Paul Engebretsen, of Green Bay, Wisc.; John Engebretsen, of Akron, Ohio; Mrs. Helen Henderson, of Corydon; Bill Kridelbaugh, student at University of Iowa at Iowa City; James Kridelbaugh, of Seattle, Wash.; Constance, Julia and Billie Bowman, of San Diego, Calif.; and three great grandchildren, Susan Kridelbaugh, of Chicago, Ill.; Ann Lynn Henderson, of Corydon; and Berry Kridelbaugh, of Green Bay, Wisc.
Mrs. Kridelbaugh was a member of the Christian Science church and of the Women's Auxiliary to the Railroad Veterans.
A brief funeral service was conducted by Rev. Fred E. Miller at the grave in the Chariton cemetery Thursday forenoon at ten o'clock.
