He was born in West Virginia on July 23, 1947, and has lived in the Oberlin-Camden Twp. area most of his life.
Sponsler worked at Cleveland Quarries in South Amherst for 30 years, retiring in 1997. Most recently he had been working at Wal-Mart in Avon, retiring in December. He was a member of the Church of The Nazarene in North Eaton. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan and loved watching John Wayne movies. He loved animals.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years Susan (Brooks); daughters Tammy Triplett, of Elyria and Tina Fahrner; son, Richard Mull, of Oberlin; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Buck and Ernestine Sponsler.
Friends may call on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. at the Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman. Pastor Max Woods and Pastor Jerry Wells of The Church of The Nazarene will be officiating. Burial will follow at Camden Cemetery.
