CAMDEN TOWNSHIP — Richard N. Hergina, age 72, of Camden Township, died December 15, 2009 at Oak Hills Nursing Center in Lorain after suffering with Alzheimer's.

He was born on August 8, 1937 in Saginaw, MI, and has been a Camden Township resident for 40 years. He served in the U.S. Army in early 1960's and worked as a machinist for 36 years at Ridge Tool in Elyria, retiring in 2001. He was a member of the Wakeman Congregational Church and the Independent Order of Foresters. He enjoyed woodworking, building muzzleloader rifles, and working on cars and lawnmowers. He was very proud of his 1968 Volkswagen he restored. He enjoyed vacationing with his family in their motor home to Nashville and the mountains of Virginia and North Carolina. He loved country music and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janet (Todd), sons Richard D. (Brenda) Hergina, of Wellington, Craig (Carolyn) Warren, of Lorain, daughter Debi Kropp, of Oberlin, three grandsons, a brother Norman (Sylvia) Hergina, of Amherst, his mother-in-law Ethel Todd, of Oberlin, and two nephews.
