PERKINS
Joseph Donald Perkins passed away Wednesday, May 30, 1973 at 10 p.m., at the Lucas County Memorial Hospital in Chariton. He had been in failing health for the past 11 years.
Donald, the son of John E. and Dora Mason Perkins, was born October 22, 1914, in Lucas County, Iowa.
He was married October 16, 1938, to Dorothy Reeves at Chariton.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy; two sisters, Mrs. Wayne (Marjorie) Overton of Knoxville, Mrs. Hugh (Marie) Harding of Blandinville, Ill.; one brother-in-law, Howard Baker of Sacramento, Calif.; three aunts, Mrs. Cleo Throckmorton of Derby, Mrs. Pearl James of Osceola and Mrs. Josie Mason of Osceola; two uncles, Homer Perkins of Chariton and Harold Throckmorton of Derby; several nieces and nephews; a host of other relatives and friends.
He will be sadly missed by all.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Irene Baker of Sacramento, Calif., and his mother and father.
He spent all his life in Lucas and Clarke Counties. He was engaged in farming until 1949 when he moved to his present home in Chariton.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Everett Hollingshead, assisted by Rev. M. H. Mobery of Knoxville, at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 1973, at the Fielding Funeral Home. Interment was in the Chariton Cemetery.
