Our beautiful and gracious mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother, Myrtle Anna Freda Dittman DeMoss Collins Strine, a resident of Shelton, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2007 at Fir Lane Health and Rehabilitation Center. Myrtle was born on August 19, 1913 in Alsask, Saskatchewan, Canada. She moved with her parents to Shelton in 1923 and attended Lincoln School in Shelton. She graduated from Moler Beauty School in Tacoma in 1935 and worked out of her home as a beautician throughout most of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Bertha (Bork) Dittman; her brothers, Harry, Lloyd, and Paul Dittman; and her husbands, Roland DeMoss, Raymond Collins, Sr., and Allen Strine. She is survived by her brother, Archie and wife, Jeannette Dittman, of Aberdeen; her three children, Raymond, Jr. and wife, SallyJo Collins, of Alaska, Sandra and husband, Lewis McCord, of Shelton, and Gary Collins, of California; her stepdaughter, Judy and husband, John Ricciardi, of Port Orchard; her grandchildren, Craig McCord, of Parkland, Christine and husband, Bill Barrington, of Alaska, Kerry and husband, Todd Wilson, of Arizona, Joel Collins, of Alaska, Nathan and wife, Terri Collins, of Alaska, Joseph Largent, of Lynnwood, Shari and husband, Aaron Williams, of Lynnwood, Jason and Autumn Collins, of Everett, Anne Louise Ricciardi, of Port Orchard, and Allen Ricciardi, of Kent, her great-grandchildren, Hope and Jacob Collins, of Alaska, Courtney, Kristina, and Jake, of Arizona, William and Raymond Barrington, of Alaska, Nickalaus Collins, of Alaska, Leah Ray and Austin Collins, of Everett, and Megan, Alex, and Isaac Williams, of Lynnwood; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; and many, many friends. Myrtle left a Legacy of Love. She was a precious lady to all who knew her. She always had a smile, always welcomed friends and family into her home, and always had a kind word to say. She belonged to the Sewing Saints of Faith Lutheran Church and made many items to give to mission workers, both at home and overseas. She was known for her gifts of hand-crocheted potholders. She spent over 20 years leading and participating in the wedding receptions at Faith Lutheran church. She received her 50-year certificate and pin from the National Grange of Patrons of Husbandry in 1994. She loved her home on Hood Canal and feeding the birds that visited her every day. She had a strong faith in Jesus Christ as her savior and God as her father, and passed that on to her children and grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Shelton at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 28, 2007. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Sewing Saints at Faith Lutheran Church. There will be a celebration of life at her home on August 16, 2008 to mark what would have been her 95th birthday.
