Marshfield Man Killed In Accident
Injuries received in a traffic accident on a Marshfield street Friday evening cost the life of Oliver James Cawley, 56, of this city. He was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Joseph's hospital. It was the first traffic fatality of 1947 in Wood county....
Cawley was driving north on South Central avenue, in company with his wife, shortly after 7 o'clock when his car suddenly swerved and crashed into an automobile parked in front of Sacred Heart Catholic church....
...he may have suffered a heart attack, causing him to lose control of the car.
Funeral services have been tentatively set for Tuesday morning at St. Mary's Catholic church in Portage. The Cawleys were married here in 1943, Mrs. Cawley being the former Mildred Brazeau of Marshfield.
