Loretta Marie Messer Franks, age 95 of Lafayette, Indiana, died February 2, 2010.
Mrs. Franks was born on November 23, 1914 in Lee County, Virginia to James E. and Myrtle Ann Olinger Messer.
She grew up in Lee and Wise Counties, Virginia, and married James Wiley Franks on April 1, 1935, and who preceded her in death on January 17, 1995.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Don (Barbara Ann) Stevens of Boonville, MO; Mrs. George "Oak" (Shirley Jane) Martin of West Plains, MO; and Mrs. James W. (Judy Faye) Schmidt of Lafayette; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Ora Alder, Evelyn Courtney and Virginia Messer.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, February 5, 2010 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. prior to the service.
Burial will be in Bunnell Cemetery.
