Myrtle L. Meckes and Richard E. Beers (son of Peter Beers and Abbie Moyer) were married 14 Nov 1921 by William C. Kuntzweiler (Carbon Co. marriage license #15221). They were blessed with sixteen children.

Myrtle L. (Meckes) Beers lived in Unionville in Penn Forest Twp., Carbon Co., PA. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church at Christmans and was a life member of the Penn Forest Twp. Fire Company No. 1. She died in Gnaden Huetten Hospital in Lehighton, PA. (Obit in "The Morning Call", Allentown, PA, Thursday, 17 December 1998, pg. B09)
