JAMES L. WHITE, JR. "PAPPA" AUG 25, 1929 - JAN 28, 2010 James L. White, Jr. (Pappa) died in Modesto, CA. Born in Knox County, TX, to James and Clora (Pettis) White. James was a 20 year Veteran of WWII, Korea, and VietNam. He opened and managed San Diego's first McDonalds. He developed and directed Sylvan School District program for 15 years. Was our friendly neighborhood watch on Laramie Drive. Preceded in death by his parents, 7 brothers, 1 daughter, and 2 grandsons and his first wife, Ruth. He is survived by his wife, Frieda; sister, Katherine (Orville) Jinks of Indianapolis; brother, Jerry (Lucille) White of Delhi, CA; sons, Terry of Ft. Worth, Thomas and Jimmy of Lubbock, Charles of Modesto; daughter, Helen (Tom) DeDios of Modesto; 16 grandkids; and 7 great-grandkids. Our thanks to friends and family for your prayers and good will through Jim's year-long illness. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, February 4th at Eaton Funeral Home, 513 12th St., Modesto. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Friday, February 5th, at LDS Chapel, 731 El Vista, Modesto, CA. Burial at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery following services.
