Lillian Kathleen Malone, formerly of Plainview, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 25, 2011. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2011, at Lemons Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lemons Memorial Chapel in Plainview. She will be laid to rest in Plainview Cemetery under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home. Lillie was born in Roxton, Texas, on May 19, 1921, to Belvie and Esther Lee Roberts. She married her husband, Orvil Malone, on May 31,1940, in Paris, Texas. Together they were blessed with seven children. They moved their family from Paris, Texas, to Plainview in 1950. It was here that she shared her joy of cooking; she owned and operated several restaurants throughout her life, including the Wendell Burger Shack. She was a nurses aide at Nichols Hospital in Plainview for 17 years. She enjoyed word search puzzles, reading and crocheting. A beloved mother and grandmother, she was a person of extraordinary vitality and grace. She was a member of Seth Ward Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Malone; her brothers, Fulton Roberts, D.L. "Dee" Roberts and Turner Roberts; a sister, Essie Roberts; a son, Wayne "Butch" Malone; and a grandson, Justin Malone. She is survived by four daughters, Glenda Edwards and husband Clayton of Plainview, Texas, Judy Price of Lubbock, Texas, Beverly Rowe and husband Rodney of Jacksonville, Texas, and Patsy Brown and husband Jay of Weatherford, Texas; two sons, Gary Malone and wife Barbara of Troup, Texas, and Ricky Malone and wife Patty of Athens, Texas; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
