Adkisson was born Oct. 15, 1928, in Dallas County to Pauline and Robert Knight and died Jan. 13, 2010, in Gun Barrel City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Alfred Odell Adkisson.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tool and the Business Women's Association of Brownwood. She was retired from the City Tax Appraisal District of Brown City.
Survivors include her daughters Anette Pasley and husband Vernon, Wylie; Gwen Cox and husband Elton, Seven Points; grandchildren Francie Tyler, Leah Turner, Aaron Bogle, Caleb Bogle, Teresa Cox McCord and Michael Ray "Rusty" Cox; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
