Mary Margaret Guerra, 64, passed away at U.C.-Davis Medical Center on Sept. 9, 2003. Mary was born March 28, 1939, to Joseph and Ruth Mattingly in Lebanon, Ky. She had lived in Portola since 1958. She was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, bible reading and was a fan of National League Football and Major League Baseball. She was a Jehovah Witness. She was preceded in death by her children, Monica and Kevin; and her sister, Betty Jo Hooper. Mary is survived by her husband, Henry Guerra of Portola; her sons, Bill, Joe, John and Eric; her daughters, Carolyn and Francie; her stepchildren, Henry, Michael, Brian, Staci, Brenda and Barbara; her sister, Geri Jacobs; 32 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness on Sept. 13, 2003. Private family inurement will be in Whispering Pines Cemetery in Portola.
