HOWARD "BROTHER" DOBSON II, 77, of 410 Rogers Road, Dunleith, New Castle, died Saturday in Wilmington Hospital.

Mr. Dobson had been a truck driver for New London Textile Co. in Newark. He was a member of the Cathedral of St. Peter in Wilmington. He was a World War II Navy veteran.

Survivors: wife of 52 years, Gloria L. Dobson; son, Howard "Val" III, and daughter, Vicki Shoffner, both of Wilmington; sisters, Lizette Davis of Wilmington and Mabel Sudler of Claymont; two granddaughters, including Waynna Dobson Morton, whom he raised, and three great-grandchildren, including Amber Dobson, at home.

Mass: 10 a.m. Thursday, Cathedral of St. Peter, Sixth and West streets. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Congo Funeral Home, 24th and Market streets, and 9 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial: Riverview Cemetery.
