Mildred M. Gilbert, 70 died unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack at the home of her daughter Joan at 8;30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, (1990)
Born Sept. 10, 1920, at Plymouth, she was the daughter of Bernard and Viola (Nickerson) Sheetz (Scheetz). A Resident of Plymouth most of her life, she married Robert J. Gilbert, at Plymouth, on July 3, 1938. He preceeded her in death May 7, 1981.
She had worked for the Culver Military Laundry and was an aide at the Plymouth Nursing Home and the Catherine Kasper Home. She was also a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Roberta Isom, Plymouth, Joan Humes, Knox, Nancy Allen, Plymouth, and Donna Cox, Bremen; two sons Bernard James, Plymouth, and Kenneth D,. Rocherster; 23 grandchildren; three step-gandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Josephine Sass, Englewood, Fla., and Viola Keck, Plymouth; one brother David A Scheetz, Argos.
She was preeded in death by one grandson, Dustin Allen. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, 1990, at the Johnson Funeral Home, Plymouth, with Fr David Voors officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home 2-9 p.m. Saturday. Burial will follow at the Burr Oak Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made at the Heart Fund or Holy Cross Parkview Hospital.
