HARTINGTON---Veronica M. Burbach, 91, formerly of St. James, died June 19, 2000, at the Park View Haven Nursing Home, Coleridge.
Visitation was June 22 at the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington.
Mass of Christian Burial was June 23 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington, with Rev. William Sanderson and Rev. Richard Burbach officiating.
Burial was in Sts. Philip and James Cemetery, St. James.
Pallbearers were Glen Hochstein, Cleo Burbach, Sean Burbach, Andy Burbach, Jeff Huinker and Matt Weinandt.
Veronica was born Sept. 5, 1908, to Ignatz A. and Mary Matilda (Willenbring) Lammers in St. Helena. She married Florenz L. Burbach Jan. 21, 1931, in St. Helena. He died April 6, 1995.
She has been a resident of the St. Helena and St. James area most of her life. She moved to Hartington in September 1992, where she lived with her daughter, Alice Weinandt. She has been a resident of the Park View Haven Nursing Home since December 1995.
Veronica was a former member of Sts. Philip and James Catholic Church and its Altar Society, and current member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington.
Survivors include her eight children and their spouses, James and Patty Burbach, Parkston, S.D.; Elaine and Don Hochstein, Hartington; Alice Weinandt, Hartington; Phyllis and Bill Huinker, Postville, Iowa; Gary and Cecilia Burbach, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Kenny and Mary Burbach, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Allan and Pam Burbach, St. Charles, Mo.; and Francis and Colleen Burbach, Lexington, Va.; 39 grandchildren; 86 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eleanor Becker, Hartington; and Gertrude Braddy and her husband, Randall, Ponca.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, Leander, Reinold, Jerome and Gilbert Lammers; one sister, Madeline Deneau; one son-in-law, Clovis Weinandt; one grandson, Matthew Burbach; one granddaughter, Lynn Huinker; and five infant grandchildren.
