August Reifenrath was born December 20, 1881. His parents were Gerlach and Mary (Schmidt) Reifenrath. He died July 2, 1963 and is buried in SS. Philip and James Cemetery. He never married. His sisters and brothers were John G., Mathilda Klug, Peter Robert, Anne Imoehl, Frederic P., Franz Wilhelm, Frank J., Elizabeth and Clara M.

He assisted his brothers with farming th eold homestead near Brookey Bottom until 1912 when he and his mother and sister moved to the old George Duman farm sough of the SS. Philip and James Church.

Funeral for August Reifenrath, 81, at St. James Saturday

ST. JAMES -- Funeral services for August G. Reifenrath, 81, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at SS. Philip and James Catholic church here.

A Solemn Requiem Mass was held with Father Thomas DeBacker officiating. Father Ernest Halemba served as deacon and Father Cyril Werner was subdeacon. Father Otto Buehler was master of ceremonies. Other priests present were Rev. John Brock and Rev. Lewis Astudo of Boys' Town and Rev. Edward Hunkeler of Bloomfield.

Burial was in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Lawrence Pinkelman, Fritz Pinkelman, Joe Reifenrath, Alphonse Reifenrath, Stanley Pinkelman and Richard Pinkelman. Services for the Solemn High Mass were Daniel Reifenrath, Thomas Reifenrath, Johnny Reifenrath and Marian Rolfes.

August G. Reifenrath was born December 20, 1881, the son of Gerlach and Mary Smith (sic/Schmidt) Reifenrath of Wynot. He assisted his brothers with farming the old homestead near Brookey Bottom until 1912 when he and his mother and sister moved to the old George Duman farm south of SS. Philip and James church here.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters. Surviving him is his sister, Clara M. Reifenrath of Kansas City, Kans.
