Rev. James Alexander Hawkins, age 66, one of the best known and most highly esteemed Free Will Baptist ministers of this section of the state, died Sunday, at his home in this city, following an illness of several weeks.
He was a faithful minister and an upright and useful citizen, who enjoyed the confidence and esteem of all who knew him. He was a veteran Odd Fellow.
He is survived by his wife and several children.
Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon, followed by burial in the Judd Cemetery, three miles southwest of Cookeville.
