BROKEN BOW — Services for Elmer "Jim" Cook, 63, longtime resident of Broken Bow, are 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, at First Baptist Church of Broken Bow. Clark Wrather and Neil Jackson will officiate. Burial follows at Crown Hill Cemetery, Broken Bow. Mr. Cook died Jan. 22, 2010, at his home in Ada. He was born Oct. 27, 1946, in Ponca City to Willy "Bill" and Grace Moody Cook. Mr. Cook was a member of First Baptist Church of Broken Bow and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a schoolteacher at Glover Schools for 30 years, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, and was a hunters' safety instructor for many years. He was preceded in death by his Father, Willy "Bill" Cook, and a brother, Melvin Cook.He is survived by his mother Grace Cook, Durant; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Christy Cook, Ada; one daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Tracy Lewis, Pontotoc; three brothers and their spouses, Jerry Cook, Wamego, Kan., David and Patricia Cook, Sherman, Texas, Dale and Talena Cook, Broken Bow; two sisters and one son-in-law, Louise Griffin, Watonga, Donna and John Massey, Durant; five grandchildren, Jonathan, Jessica, Justin, Hunter James and Callie Rose; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.Brumley Funeral Home, Broken Bow
